Sleeping with Serge, Jane or Brigitte
Everything about the rooms, children, pets, check-in and check-out.
What kind of place is Les Jardins de Jeanne?
Les Jardins de Jeanne is a small bed and breakfast with three rooms in a historic farmhouse from 1777,
in the polders of Middelkerke on the Belgian coast. It's a countryside B&B close to the sea: fields all around,
the beach within walking distance.
On the same estate there's a renovated barn for parties, weddings and corporate events.
Is Les Jardins de Jeanne a hotel?
No, we're a B&B with three rooms. No reception desk and no long corridors, but an old farmhouse with character,
a large garden and polders as far as you can see.
Margaux and Gregory run the B&B themselves.
How many people can stay in a room?
Serge and Brigitte are rooms for two. Jane, our largest room, sleeps two adults and two children.
In total, the B&B sleeps up to eight guests.
Can we come with children?
Yes. Jane is our family room for four: a king-size bed and a separate sitting area with a sofa bed for two children.
Do you have a baby cot or high chair?
Yes, on request. Just let us know when you book.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes, in all rooms, on request. We charge €15 per night and ask you to bring a crate or dog basket.
Dogs are welcome in the garden; please clean up after your dog. There's a bin for that.
Does every room have a private bathroom?
Yes. Every room has its own bathroom with a walk-in shower.
What's in the room?
High-quality bed linen and towels, Marie-Stella-Maris toiletries, Nespresso coffee, tea, water and a smart TV
where you log in with your own streaming account.
Free wifi in all rooms.
Is there air conditioning?
No, but the rooms have heating. In spring and summer we provide fans, and the thick walls of the old farmhouse
keep the rooms pleasantly cool.
Is there a lift? Which room is easiest to reach?
There's no lift and no room on the ground floor. Serge is on the first floor (8 steps), Jane on the second and Brigitte on the third,
under the roof. If stairs are difficult for you, choose Serge.
The B&B is not wheelchair accessible.
Is there a minimum stay?
Yes, you stay at least two nights. That way you really have time to unwind. Celebrating in our barn?
Then the minimum stay doesn't apply when you book the rooms with your party.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in from 4 pm, check-out by 11 am. Arriving later? Just let us know. We love to welcome our guests in person,
but if we're not home, you'll find your key in a key box.
We send clear instructions with photos beforehand.
How do I book a room?
Directly via the 'book a room' button on our website.
What is your cancellation policy?

Can we use the garden?
Of course. At the back of the garden you'll find our honesty bar, a little hut where you can help yourself to a drink,
with a picnic table next to it.
On sunny days you can sit in the lounge corner by the fire basket.
Is the tourist tax included?

Can I smoke?

Questions about the barn
Capacity, catering, music and staying the night after your party or event.
What kind of party venue is the barn?
Our barn is an authentic farm barn, fully renovated into a party and event venue in Middelkerke, with its original wooden beams. It sits in the polders on the same estate as our B&B, with no neighbours in sight.
What can you rent the barn for?
Weddings, birthdays, family parties and receptions. Companies use it for team buildings, meeting days and multi-day seminars.
Can we get married in the barn or the garden?
You can celebrate your wedding in the barn and hold a ceremony outside, under our big weeping willow. The legal civil ceremony takes place at the town hall; the ceremony here can be as personal as you like.
How many guests does the barn hold?
From 20 to 130 guests: up to 130 for a standing reception, 85 to 95 for a seated dinner. The barn is 120 m², surrounded by 7,600 m² of garden, with a separate 27 m² workspace with toilet. In summer, a 150 m² stretch tent adds extra space.
How much does it cost to rent the barn?
The price depends on the date, the duration and what you need. Fill in the request form on our barn page and you'll quickly receive a tailor-made proposal.
Can we visit the barn first?
Yes, gladly. A visit is free and without obligation: you'll see the barn, the garden and the surroundings, and we'll think about your party together. Book a visit via the request form.
How far in advance should we book?
For a wedding in high season, we recommend booking 9 to 18 months ahead. For other parties, just ask about availability.
Can we bring our own caterer?
Yes. We don't work with fixed partners or compulsory caterers. You choose your own caterer, food truck or supplier, and we're happy to recommend good local addresses.
What's available for the caterer?
A kitchen with two large fridges, a large freezer, stainless steel tables, a sink with hot and cold water, a microwave, an oven, a combi oven and two electric hotplates. Outside the barn there are power points for a food truck; let us know beforehand how much power is needed.
Can we bring our own drinks?
No, we take care of the drinks. You pass on your choices beforehand, we order everything from our wine merchant and brewer, and afterwards you pay for what was actually consumed. We'll gladly send you the price list. Exceptions are possible on request. We can also provide staff.
Until what time can the music play?
No closing time and no neighbours.
Can we bring our own DJ or band?
Yes. The barn has two Sonos speakers you can connect via wifi, and a large JBL speaker for outside. There are also two microphones, a projector and a screen. Most DJs bring their own equipment. Organising a public event? Then you arrange the permits and copyright fees yourself.
What furniture and equipment is available?
65 chairs, 5 high cocktail tables, 2 low tables and a large rack you can decorate yourself. There's a fitted bar with a beer tap.
We provide glasses for up to 50 guests (with a deposit); for larger groups you rent extra.
Is the barn heated?
Yes. Two units heat the barn in winter and cool it in summer.
Can we put up a tent?
Yes. In summer there's an expandable stretch tent of 10 by 15 metres. The large lawn around the barn has room for an outdoor reception or lounge bar. Extra tents are possible on request.
Can our guests stay the night after the party?
Yes. Our three B&B rooms, Jane, Serge and Brigitte, sleep eight guests on the same estate.
Celebrating and sleeping at one address: you'll hardly find that anywhere else on the coast.
No two-night minimum when you book the rooms with your party.
Tents and campervans are welcome too. The rooms→
Is the barn suitable as a meeting or team building venue?
Yes. The barn is a quiet meeting venue near the Belgian coast for team buildings, meeting days and multi-day seminars.
Projector, screen, microphones and wifi are available. For meeting days, Margaux makes a homemade lunch: sandwiches,
salads, soup, tacos or wraps, as extensive as you like.

When can we set up and clear away?
That depends on the type and size of your party. Weddings are rented per weekend, so you can set up the day before and clear away the day after at your own pace. For communions, birthdays and other parties, it depends on whether the barn is booked the day before or after. We're flexible.
Do we have to clean up ourselves?
Cleaning is not included. You'll receive a checklist beforehand. If it's not in order, we charge for it or deduct it from the deposit.
Prefer not to? A cleaning crew can be booked for €250.
Can we decorate the barn ourselves?
Yes, with a few rules: no nails, no tape on wood and no confetti. You'll find all conditions in the rental agreement.
Is the barn wheelchair accessible?
Yes. The barn has two toilets, one with a grab bar for wheelchair users.
Please note that the B&B rooms are only reachable by stairs.
